The Consideration of Myself - A Poem

Consideration of Myself - Poem

The Consideration of Myself

I have lived,
I have loved,
I have dreamed,
I have won, and I have lost.

As I have aged, I have become less,
Yet, at the same time, I have become more.
I discovered that I am human in all the ordinary ways —
A fleeting thought, a whisper among countless voices.

My uniqueness is an idea never forgotten,
Yet never mine to claim.
I am myself, yet I am all,
Alone, yet never separate.

I am a note in a melody,
A ripple in a great tide,
A shadow in the morning light,
Present, yet indistinct.

In my reflection, I see myself.
In my reflection, I see others.
I have lived, I have loved, I have dreamed —
And in that, I have become everything.

Sage and other Herb Wisdom #1 - Dining Out

If your child doesn't think that going to McDonald's or P.F. Chang's or other restaurants for a meal is a special event; you are raising them wrong. Dining out and take-out should never be commonplace - Except on a vacation.

When something becomes commonplace, it ceases being special. It becomes their normal, their expectation, and part of their perceived quality of life. When they grow up and are now required to live within their means, stay on a budget, they will not be able to do that without feeling intensely that their quality of life has decreased. They will feel stress and strain, will struggle, and will probably begin living on the edge of a credit line.
